Where did you get the name "Onverse"?

It's a compound word of "Online" and "Universe" - Onverse or The Onverse.

How long has Onverse been in development?

We've been in development for about 1.5 years. We are a small, independent, talented, hardworking team.

What's the point?

We felt this was the natural progression of online communities. We saw a huge potential in the combination of web social networks and massively multiplayer online games. Why browse through a 2D social network to see what people are up to when you can actually go inside and hang out with those people, play games or explore together?

What are your goals as a company?

The goal will always be to give you and your friends an awesome place to hang out online. In a shorter-term view, the goal is to start as a simple social gaming platform, then continue to build into the world fun things to do and new places to go.

What is this "Beta" thing everyone keeps talking about?

Beta is a stage of game development that opens up to the public in a semi-unfinished state. It allows the public to get a sneak peek at what the final product will look like, while helping the development team to find problems that arise with the introduction of thousands of users. It is also a time to voice opinions and get things changed or added that make the game experience better for everybody.

How do I get into the Beta?

Simply sign up here at the website. Giving us your information allows us to contact you and let you in when the time comes for you to enter the game.

Why are my photos getting cropped into a square?

This is so we can use these photos inside our 3D world. Our game engine uses powers of 2 (2, 4, 8…) for textures, so we crop your pictures into a square for easy conversion into the game. For maximum quality images inside the game, crop and upload your pictures as perfect squares.

Gameplay

What are your system requirements for playing Onverse?

Our goal when we set out to make the game was to have it be available to your average internet user. While we know our system specs are low compared to most 3D games, we will be able to better determine exact specs during our beta when we can get a large cross-section of different platforms playing Onverse.

How much does Onverse cost to play?

I've run into a problem installing, downloading or playing Onverse. What do I do?

All of our content is intended for users age 13 and up. By using Onverse, you are agreeing that you meet this minimum age requirement.
